Snippets, the Chrome extension

• ReadsWhat you type into text boxes and editable areas such as Gmail's compose window, only to spot your own triggers. To do that Chrome lets it read the pages you type on, and its install prompt says so.
• StoresYour snippets, in your browser's local storage on your computer. They are never synced to us or to anyone.
• RefusesPassword, one-time-code and card-number fields, and fields inside what looks like a login form. It will not act in them.
• SendsNothing while you type. The part of the extension that watches your typing has no network code.

The one exception: licence activation

If you buy Pro, you enter a licence key once. At that moment, and only then, the product sends your licence key and the product's name to our licence server so it can confirm the purchase.

We don't store it. The server checks the key with Gumroad, returns a signed token and keeps nothing. The token holds a scrambled, one-way version of your key, the product name and the date. No email, no name, no key, no location.

After that the product never contacts us again, so if our server disappeared tomorrow your copy would keep working.

What we never do

• Sell, share or rent anything. We hold nothing to sell.
• Use analytics, advertising or tracking in any product.
• Build a profile of you.
• Watch how you use our products.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Gumroad, the merchant of record. They collect what they need to take a payment and send a receipt. Their policy is at gumroad.com/privacy.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to show you, correct or delete. If you think we hold something about you, write to us and we'll check and tell you honestly either way.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. We won't quietly start collecting data. If that ever changed, the products would say so plainly before it happened.
